Congratulations to Aahlya (Y4) and Jorja (Y5) who both qualified for the 2023 Youth National Speed Climbing Championships. Both girls were the top two ranked U10 climbers in the ACT. At our Senior School Swimming Carnival on Thursday, Chloe (Y11) won the Tanya Desmond Golden Flipper event, for the fastest eight 50m freestyle students at the School. Willow, Ilaria and Stefania (Y6) represented the U12 Canberra City Magic touch football team at the Touch Football Junior State Cup recently. The girls made it through to the round of 16. CGGS had a very successful weekend at the NSW Rowing Championships recently. Our rowers achieved a Gold in the SG 4+, Bronze in the SG 4x+, Bronze U17 8+, fourth in the U16 4x+ and fifth in the U19 4x. Well done to our rowing team for their outstanding results! An Ash Wednesday Service will take place at the Chapel of the Annunciation, Senior School Campus (48 Melbourne Ave, Deakin), on Wednesday, 22 February commencing at 3.40pm. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and our journey towards Easter. This will be a reflective service with a Said Eucharist and the Imposition of Ashes.
