CDC Canberra provides an extensive transport schedule for families living in Jerrabomberra, Googong, Queanbeyan, Bungendore, Murrumbateman, Yass, Gundaroo, Collector and Michaelago. These bus routes pick-up and drop-off students directly to CGGS, and is free as part of the School Student Transport Scheme for most students residing in NSW.
Several rural services in Braidwood and Cooma also connect with CDC Canberra bus routes to make travel to CGGS possible.
CGGS offers boarding options to cater to your family’s needs in a modern world. Beyond full time boarding, there are various boarding choices to provide convenience and consistency—especially if you live just across the ACT boarder.
Weekly boarding
Weekly boarding can take some of the pressure off busy family life. Students stay four nights at School (Monday to Thursday) then three nights at home (Friday to Sunday). This is an excellent solution for families who live rurally—it is popular for those within a 1.5 hour radius of Canberra, or parents/carers who need to manage shift, extended, interstate or international work commitments.
Casual boarding
‘As required’ boarding is an attractive support option to back up families to meet their commitments, better manage short times of transition, or unexpected events. For example, a student may have sport or music or another activity after School. Rather than travel afterhours, they can stay in the Boarding House for one or two nights a week (subject to availability). Or, a fortnightly booking may help out parents/carers who are called to travel for an unforeseen business trip or in times of illness or emergency.
