5. Is there a Defence Mentor and what activities are arranged for students?

The Defence School Mentor (DSM) welcomes new students from Defence families to the school and supports students whose family members may be deployed or absent and farewell students as they are posted to a new school. This is achieved through a range of activities and social gatherings like morning teas, craft activities, student interests or joining classroom lessons. The DSM also strives to involve the students in community-orientated activities including volunteering and engaging with Defence students from neighbouring schools.

6. Do you have extension or remediation available? What does that look like?

The Inclusive Learning and Enrichment Team (AET) recognises the diverse learning needs of students throughout the Junior School, and is committed to supporting the delivery of educational programs that are responsive to the needs of all learners. The complementary qualifications and experience of team members procures a collective expertise to support gifted and high potential learners, students with specific learning needs, students who require academic support, and students for whom English is an additional language or dialect (EAL/D). Please contact us to set up a meeting with our AET.

At CGGS we require all students to be able to take their classes in English and are required to provide evidence of English proficiency. Please see the international students section on our website for more information.
