Parents & Friends Association

The Canberra Girls Grammar School Parents & Friends Association is your connection to your school community. Our goal is to support greater engagement and a sense of community in our school by providing opportunities for parents and carers to build their connections with each other.

The P&F Association also raises funds for those special extras that enhance the educational experience of CGGS students, including the state-of-the-art Junior School playground and PDHPE rowing ergometers to name a few.

Here's the P&F Constitution, where you can learn more about our group.

I invite you to get involved and share our vision. Support upcoming P&F activities, share your ideas, meet other parents and help us build and strengthen our community.

P&F Awards

Every year, the CGGS Parents & Friends Association calls for nominations from parents, teachers and students to recognise the outstanding contribution made by members of the CGGS community. Nominations open online in Term 4 each year and are open to all members of the school community.

The Parents and Friends Association Award for Teaching Excellence in Memory of Karen Harris

Karen Harris is remembered as a dedicated and committed teacher who was passionate about her profession and the difference she could make to the lives of the students in her care. As a teacher, she exemplified the qualities that this award recognises.

The P&F Award for Outstanding Contribution to the School Community

This award is given to a member of the CGGS community who has offered exceptional and enduring support to the School and our students.

P&F Small Grants

The CGGS Parents and Friends Association (P&F) offers small grants of up to $10,000 to school groups to enhance the school community and the experience of CGGS students.

Any group associated with the School is welcome to apply for a grant, including sporting teams, Friends of Music members, co-curricular activities groups, and many more.

In the past, grants have funded a new sailing boat, a coxed four rowing boat, new choir robes, the Prep playground in the Junior School, resuscitation equipment, the ‘Chill Pill’ pastoral care initiative, and timpani drums for the Junior School.

Applications are called for in Term 4 each year.

For further information, please email pandf@cggs.act.edu.au.

CGGS Fete

The CGGS Fete, annually held on the Senior School campus, is one of the biggest school fetes in Canberra. Each year it attracts over 5,000 attendees and provides an opportunity to bring the school and local communities together.

The CGGS Fete is BACK! The date is set for Saturday, 22 October 2022.

The day sees more than 50 stalls including hot food, cakes, salads, fairy floss, sweets, treasure trove, plants, high-quality pre-loved books and clothing plus much more. There is entertainment for all ages with a student-run fashion parade, pony rides, carnival rides, and free entertainment by the CGGS bands, orchestras, choirs and other performers.
