Recruitment process

1: advertising the position

CGGS advertises career opportunities through various channels, including the CGGS website, SEEK, IB Schools Australia and other specialist websites.

Submit your application online via the CGGS website, which is supported by the SWAG portal. You will be required to set up a SWAG account before you can submit your application. Once registered, you can procced to upload all application requirements including your cover letter and CV. Please do not use the AI option, as it simply replicates your information across a number of different sections, which is not required. There are several mandatory questions that must be completed during this process too. Your cover letter should provide a concise overview of your expertise and experience, offering enough information for the panel to assess your suitability for the role. While this appears to be optional in the portal, it is required for all CGGS positions.

You are encouraged to browse the CGGS website to learn more about our 100-year-old philosophy, ethos and culture. This may help determine whether CGGS is the right place for you.

2: selection

The recruitment and screening process at CGGS is thorough, aiming to identify the best candidate for the position. Typically, this involves a two-stage interview process. For teaching roles, candidates are also required to conduct a demonstration lesson during School hours.

The screening process includes reference checks (with at least one referee from your current employer), a police check, and a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) check for all employees. Teachers must also be registered with the Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) to be considered for a position at CGGS.

3: acknowledgement of applications

We appreciate the time required to apply for positions and are committed to progressing the recruitment process as quickly as possible. All applicants are acknowledged as soon as possible following the closing date.

Should your application be unsuccessful, you will receive notification immediately once the decision has been made. We are unable to provide feedback on applications. Should your application progress to interview stage, we will contact you individually to let you know the outcome, whether your application is successful or otherwise.
