Student News - Term 3 Week 6

Our Junior School students performed strongly at the South Weston Athletics Carnival recently. Thirteen students qualified for the 12&U ACT Track and Field Championships in 16 events, and CGGS achieved the top female score on the day.

On 29 July our U14 and U18 football teams pulled up their socks to support 'Play in Purple', a fundraiser for Pankind, the Australian Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. The girls wore purple socks to support the initiative and hosted a BBQ to raise funds. Thanks to the efforts of our parents, students and staff, we raised $613.32!

Willow and Stefania (Y6) recently travelled to Darwin to represent the ACT U12 girls touch football team at the School Sport Australia Touch Football Championships. The ACT team placed third, and Willow was voted as the team's Players Player.

At the recent ASC Netball 2023 competition, the CGGS Years 11–12 and Senior Mixed teams finished second. The Years 7–8 and Years 9–10 teams are awaiting confirmation on either a third or fourth place finish.

Recently students from The Music Academy travelled to Tumut to host a workshop and concert at Tumut Public School. Musicians from Tumut Public School had the opportunity to learn from Music Academy staff and play alongside their CGGS counterparts in the concert.
