Student News: Term 1 Week 7 2024

At the Australian National Track Cycling Championships, Emily (Y11) achieved a personal best, set a new ACT record and secured the U17 Women's Time Trial National Champion title in the 500m Time Trial, and won gold and set a new ACT record in the U17 Women's Team Sprint. Emily's results come off the back of an injury sustained while at the championship, showcasing her resilience and determination.

Congratulations to the CGGS Years 7-8 Touch Football team, who went undefeated at the Southside Touch Football Gala Day recently. The Years 9–10 team reached the grand final but finished runner-up. Both teams have now progressed to the ACT Touch Football Gala Day.

Year 6 students participated in the Illuminate Challenge this week, where they were inspired to address and design solutions to community challenges in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner. On Friday, families were invited to view the teams’ solutions and presentations, and stay for the Awards Ceremony.
