A 100-year legacy of excellence, connection and opportunity at CGGS is made possible through the dedication of our exemplary teaching staff.

Peter McDonald (Deputy Principal, Head of Junior School and ELC) has been recognised with an ACEL ACT Educational Leadership Award for 2024. Peter is an experienced educational leader, primary educator and postgraduate course convener and lecturer. With a firm commitment to international mindedness and delivering outstanding student learning, he has held various school leadership positions in Australia and internationally.

Peter also sits on the Executive board of IB Schools Australasia, the peak body representing all International Baccalaureate schools in the Pacific region. He is a member of the Independent Primary Schools Heads of Australia (IPSHA) NSW/ACT state Executive and is a certified AITSL Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher assessor. A long-time certified member of the International Baccalaureate Educator Network, Peter supports IB schools throughout Asia and the Pacific as a school consultant, workshop leader and school evaluator.

With an unmistakable laugh and a brilliant sense of humour, Peter is held in high-regard amongst his peers and displays a genuine appreciation for the students and staff in his care. Congratulations, Peter, you are thoroughly deserving of your award!
