Write a Book in a Day

Recently, 22 of our Year 6 students participated in the annual, nationwide Write a Book in a Day (WABIAD) competition, raising funds for The Kids’ Cancer Project.

This fun and creative team activity incorporates the following aspects:

  • It involves a collaborative team effort, where students plan, write and illustrate a book.
  • Every story grows from a unique set of parameters that are given to each writing team.
  • The book must be completed within 12 hours between 8.00am and 8.00pm.
  • Completed books are shared digitally with children in hospitals across Australia.

Students were encouraged to seek sponsorship and have collectively raised over $3,000. The Year 5 students are looking forward to having their turn next year!
