Tournament of Minds (ToMs) has provided opportunities for students in Years 4, 5 and 6 to think creatively and critically as they compete in problem solving challenges. The challenges require students to work collaboratively in multi-year level teams to address specific criteria and present their solution to the problem through a dramatic performance.
At the recent Branch Finals, three of our CGGS teams were successful in qualifying for the Tournament of Minds international finals to be held in Hobart in October.
Olivia Ryall (Year 5) said, “Tournament of Minds has been a really enjoyable ride with opportunities for creativity and thinking. Social Sciences is all about solving the problems of the world and how these issues affect humankind.”
Also in Year 5, Caitlin Nockels said, “Tournament of Minds was a highly rewarding experience. We learnt many new skills along the way, and for me I was able to develop my acting skills.”
The following students will represent ACT in Language Literature, Social Sciences and The Arts disciplines in Hobart:

All students are looking forward to forming new friendships, competing and representing the ACT at an international level.
