Raising happy, healthy teenage girls

Posted 21 May 2021 12:08pm

Students have had a very successful beginning to Term 2 in both their academic and co-curricular pursuits. As we head towards the middle of the term, when the afternoons are darker earlier, we have some reminders for students and parents:

  • Our Senior School Library is open until 6.00pm. Girls should make their way there after school. In the exceptional event that parents cannot pick their daughter up by 6.00pm, girls should make their way to the Boarding House.
  • A reminder that grab bags are available from the canteen after school to collect before sport or study.
  • We have a number of vending machines for students to use during recess and lunch, please remind your daughters that these machines cannot be used outside of these times.
  • We ask that you continue to keep your daughter/s home if they are unwell. If they become unwell at school, they may go to our onsite nurse in the Health Clinic who will contact you if necessary.

Upcoming event

We warmly invite you to the second in our series of Parent Information Sessions, Raising happy, healthy teenage girlson Wednesday, 26 May.  In this session you will hear from experts on how to support the teenage girls in your life; what is normal teenage behaviour; when you should be concerned; and strategies for helping your daughters. The presentation by our school counsellor, Dr Abi Fargher, and accredited Practising Dietitian and Grammarian, Georgia Houston, will be followed by a Q&A opportunity. Register for this event here before 24 May 2021.

This session is supported by the resources available on School TV.  We encourage interested parents to view the 'Healthy Body Series' which includes interviews with specialists, fact sheets, and other information on topics such as diet and nutrition, body image, mindfulness, and sleep.

We look forward to seeing you there.
