Canberra Girls Grammar Junior School offers a Holiday Program open to students enrolled in any primary school across the ACT. The Holiday Program provides children with a safe and nurturing environment, where they can engage in a range of experiences with their peers and supportive educators.
Junior School Holiday Program
Holiday Program operates from Monday to Friday during CGGS school holiday periods, from 8.00am until 6.00pm. The program does not operate on Public Holidays or CGGS Pupil Free days, or for a shutdown period over Christmas and New Year.
Children attending Holiday Program must provide their own food: fruit break, lunch and afternoon tea. As an Allergy Aware Program, we ask that food containing nuts are not provided.
As per our Sun Protection Policy, children are required to wear a sun safe hat. Children are to wear enclosed footwear and clothing with sleeves. We encourage children to come dressed in comfortable ‘play clothing’
An indication of programmed activities are attached. More detailed activities, timings and routines are displayed at the program each day. Our program also seek to provide a balance of relaxation, recreation and play experiences, catering for a range of interests and abilities.
Transport for excursions will be provided by Canberra Girls Grammar School .All children/educators are required to be seated and wearing seatbelts during transport. Staff to child ratio of 1:8 will be maintained at all times during the excursion. Risk Assessments are conducted prior to any excursion and are available for viewing at the program upon request. Permission forms for the excursion are available to sign at the program. Planned excursion departure and return times are indicated in program information and may be subject to change. We ask that families arrive to the program to sign children in no later than half an hour before the scheduled departure time. This allows excursions to depart on time.
Enrolments for Holiday Program are accepted on a casual basis only. Cancellations to School holiday program bookings must be done 1 week prior to the booked day. Cancellations made after this time will be charged full school holiday program fee as excursions are paid in advance and staff are rostered based on the number of children booked to maintain educator - child ratio.
Any unattended days will be charged unless a medical certificate is provided within 2 weeks of the absence.
Fees (current for 2021 school year)
$103.00 per day (incursions and excursions included).
Direct Debit is the preferred method of payment and statements will be issued as per the 2021 billing schedule.

Holiday Program attendance is eligible for the Child Care Subsidy. Families must apply to Centrelink to ascertain their eligibility for CCS and provide the service with up to date CRN details, and confirm their child/ren’s enrolment on the MyGov website, before any subsidy can be applied. For more information, contact Family Assist on 13 61 50. All details must be completed by parents via Centrelink/Family Assist as we cannot speak to them on your behalf.
All bookings for Holiday Program are made online via the ‘Casual Booking Calendar’, through the My Family Lounge portal or My Family Lounge app.

Holiday Program operates from the Undercroft in the main Junior School building on Grey Street, Deakin. Access is through the main Junior School Reception.
Absences must be advised in advance to ensure student accountability and safety. Parents can advise that their child will be absent using the My Family Lounge App (preferred) or emailing email@example.com.
Our centre closes at 6.00pm and it is expected that all children are collected promptly by 6.00pm.
If a child is picked up from 6.01pm, a Late Collection fee of $50 per child will be charged.
