Enroling at the ELC

The best possible start for your child

We believe the best way for boys and girls aged 3-5 to learn, is through inquiry and purposeful play experiences.

At our Early Learning Centre (ELC), we ensure every child receives an experience tailored to their needs. To facilitate this, we employ university-trained Early Childhood Teachers and diploma trained Co-Educators for each class.

In addition to these staff, ELC students benefit from engaging with a specialist music teacher, a teacher librarian, a French teacher and a PE teacher as part of their regular learning experiences.

We are proud to be one of only a few ELCs in Canberra that offers a play-based curriculum informed by the Early Years Learning Framework, in conjunction with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.

If you would like to find out more about our exceptional ELC, please read our Frequently Asked Questions’ document.

We've expanded our outstanding ELC facilities

Construction on the new state of the art ELC wing has been completed, increasing our capacity for both Reception and Pre-Prep. Places have been going fast, but we have a small number still available for 2019 and 2020.

The new wing is home to our full time Pre-Prep classes, and it has been designed with their needs in mind. There is a multipurpose wet/art area off of each classroom that will provide a great space for creative experiences, messy science activities and group work.

There are also two additional outdoor play spaces being developed as part of the expansion; one on the ground floor, and one on the upper floor. These will provide wonderful outdoor classroom environments, meaning we can take learning outside and children can continue to explore, create and be imaginative.

In 2019, architectural firm Daryl Jackson Alastair Swayn (DJAS) received two ACT Architectural Awards for the expansion project - an Award for Educational Architecture and the Derek Wrigley Award for Sustainable Architecture.
