SAILING

At the end of 2006, Sailing was introduced as a Co-curricular option. The interest of the initial group meant that this continued in Term 1 2007 with 14 regular participants from Year 6 to Year 12.  Students sailed corsairs, toppers and catamarans on the Lake and participants were awarded Level 1 Certificates. Poor weather was minimal and twice a week they sailed in balmy conditions, learning to co-operate in rigging the boats, navigating and even rescuing in capsize exercises. One of the delightful aspects was the opportunity for students across a wide age range and with differing skill levels to work together and share expertise and companionship.
