Sunday Live is ABC Classic FM's primary means of profiling Australian musicians in live performance, providing an important public and broadcast platform for local talent. Sunday Live is broadcast from a different capital city or regional centre each month. These free concerts are presented in collaboration with local venues and communities. Sunday Live moves to Canberra in April. Sunday afternoons 3pm.

Sunday 6 April at 3.00pm FLUTE AND GUITAR Introduced by Julian Day
Virginia Taylor has been described as one of the most exciting flautists to appear on the concert platform in recent years. Virginia’s CD, For Flute and Guitar, with guitarist Timothy Kain, has been a bestseller. The program includes Zenamon’s Three retratos for flute and guitar, Character Interludes by Elena Kats-Chernin, and Pujol’s Suite Buenos Aires.
Sunday 13 April at 3.00pm DYNAMIC DUO Introduced by Damien Beaumont
With a career that includes performances with the Sydney Symphony and the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Alan Vivian is one of Australia’s highest profile musicians. Susanne Powell has enjoyed a career of performances, tours and broadcasts and since 1991 has been Lecturer in Piano, ANU School of Music. Their program includes Weber’s Grand duo concertant, Bernstein’s Sonata and Shalom-alekhem Rov Feidman by Béla Kovacs.
Sunday 20 April at 3.00pm MILITARY MIGHT Introduced by Damien Beaumont
The Royal Australian Navy Band, a prestigious unit of the Australian Defence Force, is one of Australia’s premier military ensembles. Its musicians are highly skilled and versatile; able to perform traditional ceremonial and concert music, jazz, pop, swing, classical, and vocal harmonies. The program includes the Vaughan Williams’ Toccata marziale, Holst’s First Suite in E flat for Military Band, Op 28 No 1 and Godzilla eats Las Vegas! by Eric Whitacre.
Sunday 27 April, 3.00pm SUNDAY JAZZ Introduced by Julian Day
The wonderful group of master musicians that make up the John Mackey Quintet will perform a mix of modern jazz originals and standards – melodic, hard-driving, swinging jazz at the top level – including John Mackey’s Shorter Straw, It’s the only thing to do, and Pantano Drive.
