At CGGS we believe that sport provides an avenue through which students develop commitment, leadership and team skills, and a sense of achievement and pride in their efforts.
Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) is a compulsory subject from Prep to Year 12, covering a wide-ranging program of physical activities, health and well-being, and participation and development in both team and individual sports. An extensive program of sporting competitions is held throughout the year, in which students compete for their House.
Our co-curricular sports programme is broad, extensive and very popular with at least 80% of students participating in a team sport throughout the year. Our various sporting teams regularly compete in district, regional, inter-school and inter-state competitions.
Many of our sportswomen have won State and National titles, and we have celebrated the success of a number of Olympic competitors and medal winners across a variety of sports.
