CO-CURRICULUM
In order to help the students to have fun whilst discovering and developing their talents, students are encouraged to be involved in the wider life of the School.
Students may join in:
- singing in one of the three choirs for students from Years 3 to 6
- playing in the String Orchestra or one of the two Junior School Bands
- public speaking
- debating
- Drama Club
- Tournament of Minds
- Art Club
- There are some lunchtime clubs which attract strong following, among which are at present the Double Helix Science club and the Chess club.
Co-curricular activities are introduced at different levels as they become age appropiate.
The co-curricular sporting life is broad and very popular. Students may be involved in a range of winter and summer sports, playing and competing against other students in Clubs in the Canberra region. Students delight in reporting their progress and achievements to their peers at weekly Assemblies.
Competition is found in:
- hockey and minkey
- netball and netta
- basketball
- soccer
- tennis
- softball, t-ball and mod-ball
- swimming
- gymnastics
- Little Athletics
- equestrian
- snow skiing
- Students have the opportunity to be chosen for district and regional representative teams through their involvement in the School teams.
