SCHOOL AGE CARE

The Canberra Girls’ Grammar School (CGGS) School Age Care provides both permanent and casual after school places for students from Preparatory Grade to Year 7. The programme is run by the School for students attending CGGS and Canberra Grammar School and their siblings. The Program Coordinator is Carol Read who can be contacted at the Centre on 6273 1242.  If you are unable to contact the Centre, a message may be left at the Junior School Office on 6202 6411.

The Centre

CGGS School School Age Care Programme provides children with a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment, that responds to the needs of the family.  It is a place where children can pursue play activities of their choice, working in their own individual way, at their own level of development. The activities, experiences and environment are designed to help develop the social, intellectual, cultural and physical abilities of each child. The quality of care received by children at play significantly nurtures in each child, knowledge of their rights, responsibilities, values and beliefs and an understanding of others.

The Centre is located in the Undercroft, Canteen, Clements Hall, adjacent outdoor areas and adventure playground of the CGGS Junior School, Grey Street, Deakin. It provides close supervision in a happy, safe environment for children to enjoy playing with friends after school.  Places for up to 120 children per day are provided.
