Waverley House celebrates Daffodil Day

Posted 21 September 2018 12:12pm

In late August, Waverley House celebrated Daffodil Day by running a market in the Quad to raise funds for the Cancer Council - a cause very close to both Captain Kate Thompson’s (Year 12) and Head of House Mrs Alison Davidson’s hearts.

Waverley students ran stalls ranging from sweet treats such as cakes and Goodberry’s to nachos and a daffodil-themed polaroid photo board to raise a fabulous $1300!

A highlight of the day was daffodil deliveries organised by the Year 11s; students and staff could arrange for a daffodil and card to be delivered to friends on Friday morning.

A huge thank you must go to Grammarian Nipuni Wijewickrema (2010) of GG’s Flowers and Hampers for once again providing us with glorious daffodils. Thanks also to the wonderful Waverley staff and students for their enthusiastic support of the event and Helen Rogers (Student Services) for all her behind the scenes support. We can’t wait for Daffodil Day 2019!
