Textiles and Fashion students support Angel Gowns

Posted 22 October 2014 1:54pm

Each year the Textiles and Fashion students present their work in a fashion parade in Week 4. Funds raised from the ticket sales are always donated to a charity of the students' choosing. This year, proceeds from the parade will support the Angel Gowns Program.

In addition to supporting the Angel Gown Program financially, we are asking the School community to support this worthy cause by donating wedding dresses, formal dresses, bridesmaid dresses or similar. The Year 10 students will then be deconstructing these garments to make gowns to give to parents whose child is born sleeping or those who lose their child close to birth. Further information about the Angel Gown Program can be found here www.angelgownprogram.org.au

Any donations of garments can be done prior to the parade, on the night of the parade or dropped to Senior School Reception prior to Friday 14 November. Members of the School community who donate will also receive a free ticket to the parade.

If you would like to purchase tickets ($5 each) to the fashion parade, they can be purchased by emailing Cherelle Souness Cherelle.souness@cggs.act.edu.au and will be available for collection from the Waterman Centre staffroom (with payment). The parade starts at 7pm Thursday 6 November, in the Senior School Hall.
