Pip Nicoll (Year 10) and Georgia Evans (Year 8) competed at the National Capital Horse Trials Association Eventer Trials last Sunday. Pip and Georgia won first prize for costume and came 5th in a field of 20 in the open pairs cross country. Georgia went on to place 2nd in the individual Junior 60cm Hunter Trials (show jumping and cross country).

A fantastic result for Equestrian, Sam Burge (Year 12), who recently participated in the zone championship at Wamboin. Her team entered in all ten events, and Sam placed in the top three in all of them. She achieved the top score and received the Championship banner. Sam has qualified for state championships in four events and also for nationals which are scheduled for early 2020. To top it off, she has received an invitation to the Nation’s Championship to be held in New Zealand this year. Congratulations on these wonderful achievements, Sam.

Congratulations to all the students involved in the NSW Da Vinci Decathlon which was held in Sydney last week. We had teams in the Year 7, 9, 10 & 11 competition – they all did a fantastic job and represented CGGS very proudly.

It just gets better for girls’ cricket and CGGS representation! The Emerging Meteors are representative teams for girls’ cricket; they participate in the NSW Districts’ (DCA) competition commencing in October 2019. Only 15-16 players are selected for the u13, u15 and u17 age groups. We are delighted to announce five CGGS students have been selected:

U15s - Louisa Carr (Year 8) and Elizabeth Diedricks (Year 8)

U13s - Catherine Diedricks (Year 5), Alyse O’Brien (Year 5) and Sophie Williams (Year 6)

This comes on top of the national Indoor Competition in Victoria in July in which Elizabeth, Alyse and Catherine will represent the ACT (u14 indoor girls).
