After participating in the ASEAN Multi-Faith Youth Meeting in March, where she met Prime Minister Turnbull and Indonesian President Widodo, Zayaan Jadwat (Year 11 Deakin) was invited to participate in a reunion of the Australian youth representatives at the Prime Minister’s Eid Al-Fitr event at Parliament House on Monday, 18 June.
“I was gratefully privileged to be a part of the Australia-Indonesia Multi-Faith Youth Meeting,” said Zayaan.
“It was an important event, bringing different faiths together, students from different backgrounds and religions who were Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist etc. and recognizing our generation as the youth is important for the future.”
Eid Al-Fitr is a Muslim Holiday and celebration of the end of Ramadan which is a month of spiritual renewal, forgiveness and compassion through fasting and acts of charity to remember the less fortunate.
