On Saturday 26 May, the U14 Div1 football team, known as the Galah’s, played against the Woden Valley Vipers.

Due to it being a long weekend and lots of ill health the team only had 9 players. Although they were up against the odds the girls played their hearts out and you would never have known there was only 9 players on the field. Even when they conceded 2 girls in the first 20 minutes the girls played to win.

Their defence and offence strengthened as they applied the advice of their coach Julia De Angelis and the result was 2-0 down. I wrote this article because the parents, coaches and I were so proud of the spirit the girls showed. They are a wonderful team and deserve recognition for their efforts.

The girls are lucky to be coached this year by Julia De Angelis, ex CGGS pupil who equally shares their passion and is doing a wonderful job with the team.

Congratulations for an amazing job go to: Annabelle Barker (Yr8), Lucinda Bott (Yr8), Tahlia Daly (Yr7), Georgina Hill (Yr7), Mariana Kartsonas (Yr7), Maddie Nelson (Yr7), Isabella Oloyede (Yr7), Elizabeth Shaw (Yr8) and Lucinda Thompson (Yr7).
