“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” Dr Seuss

On Thursday, 22 November, Year 7 students got together and displayed their creative artefacts and infographics which they had been researching, planning and making throughout Semester 2 at Yhuuramulum. The theme was ‘Announce Yourself’, a challenge to expressing and representing ourselves in a creative way.

The students displayed an amazing range of creative items, including cakes, dresses, songs, sculptures, drawings and videos. It was great that so many teachers, parents and Year 8 students attended to see what we had been working on throughout this semester. We enjoyed discussing our ideas with Acting Principal Mr Milligan, and the Heads of Houses, including Mrs Davidson and Mrs Vance and many of our tutors.

The day ran smoothly despite the weather, but the backdrop of Lake Burley Griffin made it the perfect location. Groups of Year 7 students were rostered on to welcome our guests, others were responsible for exhibition design and our group has been responsible for the public relations aspect of the project. We would like to thank all Year 7s who contributed to the organisation of the day and also the teachers for all of their encouragement and assistance.
