2017 has been a busy and rewarding year for the students and staff involved in music at CGGS.
Term 4 began with a flurry of events including the Fete performances, Floriade, Junior School performance, Induction of the 2018 Head Chorister, Small Ensembles Concert, The Junior School Music Concert and the annual Music on the Lawn event.
From concert bands to choirs and string quartets to pop ensembles, our musicians have enjoyed the many opportunities to perform in a range of settings. Audience members have been treated to a variety of musical performances, celebrating the achievements of our many music ensembles.
The Friends of Music team continue to contribute to the overall success of each music event, providing food, drink and a welcoming smile for audience members as they arrive. The fundraising efforts of this incredible group of individuals has culminated in the purchase of two new timpani drums for the Junior School and a third timpani supported by the P&F Association, a wonderful achievement.
I remain truly inspired by the enthusiasm and passion with which our students across the school engage with the many opportunities in music and look forward to the launch of The Music Academy in 2018!
