Students Eloise Crawford (Year 9), Amélie Munro (Year 10) and Ella Borgo (Year 10) travelled to Sydney at the beginning of May to participate in Playerlink with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Playerlink is an audition-based three day program where the best student musicians from all over NSW come together to work and perform with some of the best professionals in Australia. Over three days of intensive work, the girls played side-by-side with musicians from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (Ella and Eloise with Scott Kinmont, Associate Principal trombone of the SSO and Amélie with Euan Harvey, French horn).

The girls performed selections of the most essential orchestral repertoire including excerpts of Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite, Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition and Beethoven’s 5th Symphony.

After only three days performing together, the pieces came together really well and overall, the weekend was an extremely rewarding experience and performing with SSO has been the highlight of the year so far.
