Yesterday we held our 90th Anniversary Church Service at St Paul’s Anglican Church in Manuka – a service specifically for the CGGS Community to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Canberra Girls Grammar School.

The Bishop, The Right Reverend Stuart Robinson gave the address and celebrated communion for service which was attended by members of the CGGS Board; the Gabriel Foundation; the Grammarians’ Association Committee; and the Parents and Friends Association Committee as well as staff, parents and students of the School community. We were also pleased to welcome many prominent Canberrans who came to show their support and give their congratulations.

For the procession, flags and symbols representing each part of the School were carried by members of the Senior Council, Year 6 Leaders, and representatives of the Gabriel Foundation, P&F Association and the Grammarian’s Association as well as members of staff. Also included in the procession were the Chair of the Board, Belinda Moss; Principal, Anne Coutts; CGGS School Chaplain The Reverend Paul Harris; the Rector, The Venerable Dr Brian Douglas; The Reverend Dr Ian Coutts and The Bishop, The Right Reverend Stuart Robinson.

The Junior and Senior Chapel choirs, Gabriel Singers and the CGGS Brass Band performed throughout the service, thank you to the Director of Music, Melinda Sawers for her work in preparing these performances.
