Posted 19 November 2018 11:15am

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that, after an exhaustive national and international search, the Canberra Girls Grammar School Board has appointed Mrs Anna Owen to be our next Principal.

Anna is currently Deputy Principal at Brisbane Girls Grammar School, a position she has held for five years.  Anna has gained extensive experience there and in other schools leading teaching and learning, pastoral care, the International Baccalaureate and has experience working in schools with boarding houses.

Anna is an inspiring contemporary educator.  Her breadth of experience, energy and passion for empowering young women make her an ideal fit to lead CGGS.

With a background in Science, Anna holds a Masters of Science degree.  She has also completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course and is part way through an MBA. She is also a keen sports woman and especially enjoys triathlon.

Anna is an Anglican who is committed to our values and ethos.

Anna tells me: “I am honoured to be appointed as the 15th Principal of Canberra Girls Grammar School.  I am a strong believer in girls’ education and look forward to leading a school community that is actively working to create a world where anything is possible for young women.”

I am delighted that Anna will start at CGGS at the beginning of the 2019 academic year.  Once the Queensland school year ends, Anna and her family will begin the process of moving to Canberra.  Her daughter will also join our Senior School.

I look forward to joining you all in welcoming Anna and her family to our vibrant school community next year.

I would also like to take this opportunity to warmly thank Mr Peter Milligan for his wise leadership as Acting Principal during Term 4 this year.

Yours sincerely

Belinda Moss
