Friends of Debating and Public Speaking

The Friends of Debating and Public Speaking is a group of parents and carers whose daughters take part in the Debating and Public Speaking co-curricular activities at Canberra Girls Grammar School (CGGS).

We appreciate the benefits our daughters receive having these activities organised and supported by the School—developing thinking skills; confidence in speaking public; working with the ANU student coaches; learning how to work in a team and making friends not only at CGGS but other schools as well.

A group of dedicated teachers lead this co-curricular activity, attending debates at various locations around Canberra, interstate and overseas, act as adjudicators and coaches for the debating teams and run social events such as the traditional Dads, Dames and Daughters Debate at the end of each year.

This year, the Debating and Public Speaking students will be assisting the P&F by running the toy stall at the P&F Fete on 31 October 2015.  Information about this group will be available there, so please come and have a chat to our engaging debaters and public speakers!
